Service Cat Course 1 is the starting point for training practical service skills that support everyday life.
This course explains how service tasks work for cats and how to train them in a clear, ethical and achievable way. The focus is on useful support skills rather than tricks, including medication reminders, medication retrievals, basic alert behaviours and simple interruption skills.
You’ll learn how to work with your cat’s motivation, use marker training effectively, and teach each skill step by step so your cat understands what to do and when to do it. You’ll also begin linking skills together so they can be used more naturally outside of training sessions.
This course is ideal if you want reliable support skills, a strong foundation before moving into more advanced service work, or a calm alternative to overwhelming training approaches. You move at your own pace and focus only on the skills that are genuinely helpful to you and your cat.
Service Cat Skills Course 1: Foundations & Core Skills

Train support skills that reduce daily mental load!
This course teaches ethical service style skills, not legal status. Laws around service animals vary widely, and cats are not legally recognised everywhere. Please always follow your local laws and prioritise your cat’s wellbeing and choice.
